Several years ago, before I received my real estate license, I got interested in real estate investing. I read several books on the subject and even completed the Carlton Sheet’s No Money Down course! One of the best books I read was from the Rich Dad Poor Dad series called Real Estate Riches. It talks about using leverage (financing) to achieve wealth in real estate. And making your money when you buy(purchasing well below market value.) Interested in long term investing, I instantly tried applying the concepts and was very successful. I would look at several foreclosed single family homes a week and have my Realtor place bids on them for me. In one year’s time, I had gained over $90,000 in equity from the purchase of just 3 homes! Putting up less than 30K of my own money to aquire them. I would negotiate my own leases and even find tenants before the homes were closed.
